I've
always been somewhat
satisfied with the body I got put into except for one thing, my skin (okay, at times my weight). It's sensitive, prone to breakouts, and dry--plus now it's showing signs of aging. Well, I recently found something to at least take care of the dryness and guess what? It isn't found at the beauty counter, doesn't cost a fortune, and it's all natural. In fact, if you run to your pantry and look you might already have it- safflower oil. Yes, you can use it for more than salad dressings. I've cleaned out an old plastic soap dispenser and dumped it in so it's less messy. Each night before I go to bed I slather it on, then wear long pajamas. In the morning I put more on my legs after I've put on shorts. A few months back I ran across a dermatologist's article on treating dry skin and eczema which said safflower oil was the best moisturizer and so far it's been working for me!

Well, it's worth a try for the cost of nothing since I've got a bottle of it in the kitchen. Sort of reminds me the summer I used Crisco for a facial moisturizer because a lady in my ward told me she'd been using it for YEARS and that's what kept her skin so lovely. Yeah, I didn't have quite the same results...OIL SLICK!
Yeah, I'd leave the Crisco to the chicken skin, but I also wouldn't use the safflower oil on your face!
Those both sound icky to me. If you can grind stuff I use oats ground to powder and water. Use as a paste and put it on your face for 3 minutes. My skin is never so soft.
I used to work at a beauty counter... safflower oil is a main ingredient in a lot of that product line. :)
Now I know why you always have great makeup! Feel free to share any tips as I'm a wreck with a makeup brush.
Hey Molly...doesn't the safflower oil stick to the garmies:) How does Mr. Molly feel about the slickness...or is that part of why you use it: to be able to slip right out of his bear hugs?
Actually, safflower oil has many bedroom uses... again, you have to wear long PJ's or your sheets are doomed.
